LTSCB Challenge 42 "Say it in Color"

Welcome to another challenge at the Love to Scrap Challenge Blog. This time around we want you to say it in color using any color except black or white for your sentiment. Our sponsors are:

Prize: $10 gift certificate

Prize: $10 gift certificate

I have been at home all month recuperating from foot surgery. I can’t drive myself anywhere. Do you know how hard it is to blog when you don’t have internet at home? Needless to say I did my project incorrectly the first time and had to do a quick chane to fit the theme. I totally forgot that we were supposed to use a color other than black. I had to redo my sentiment. Black StazOn did better on the vellum, but it didn’t fit the theme. Instead, I used a blue from Close to my Heart.

I worked with a set of digi papers from Stitchy Bear called Garden Fairies Paper Pack 2. I chose this pack because two of the papers had adorable fairies on them and I wouldn’t need to use another image. I made an easel card using the papers from this pack. I made a larger image for the outside and then made a smaller one for the inside. I printed the paper with the fairy on glossy paper because the image looked sharper. The other papers I printed on regular cardstock. The butterflies were cut out of scraps of the glossy paper using a stamp and die set from Sizzix. The grass was done using alcohol inks on white scraps of glossy paper and cut out with a Magnolia Doohickey Grass die. I found the flowers on clearance at Hobby Lobby and attached them to the grass with hot glue. I colored pearls with alcohol ink and attached them to the center of the flowers also using hot glue. The sentiment was done on vellum. I would have done the birthday greeting in blue also had I remembered what the challenge was, but I wasn’t going to waste the paper or redo the card. Here are all the pictures.

Hopefully I will be able to drive soon and get back to normal, avoiding this mistake in the future.

We hope that you will join us for this challenge. I look forward to seeing your work.

LTSCB #41 "Bling it On"

Welcome to a new challenge over at the Love to Scrap Challenge Blog. This time around we want to see Bling on your project. I love Bling-the more the better. I love glitter-so this is perfect for me. Our sponsors are:

Prize: 3 images to winner

Prize: $25 gift certificate to online store (good for digital and rubber stamps)

The Paper Nest Dolls

I am working with a digi image called Pumpkin Topiary from Scribbles Designs. I colored it with Ink Tense watercolor pencils. It is a Halloween digi, but I turned it into something I can use for Thanksgiving since Halloween is over. It has a couple of bats on it that I changed.

Here is the card I made:

For my bling I used Rhinestones, Stickles, Wink of Stella glitter pens, and clear Glitter Embossing Powder. The EP is on the tag. I covered the whole tag with it. I turned the bats on the original image into leaves that I then covered with green glitter glue-it's like stickles, but a different brand. I also used white Shimmer Sheets to cut out my die cut doily. Shimmer sheets is a very strong, thick paper. Even using my vagabond I had to run it through about 12 times to get it to cut through. Then I had to take a craft knife to cut the places that didn't go all the way through. It has a great look though-shiny and slick. The DP is from the Fall and Halloween 8 1/2 X 11 paper pack by DCWV. The tag was made with an old tag making kit that I have had for years. I attached a piece of burlap ribbon using the Tim Holtz tiny attacher. I had to staple each side seperately because of the thickness of the ribbon. The sentiment stamp is an old one by KC Andrews. Her shop has been closed for some time, but you might be able to find it somewhere. It comes in a set with a lot of scriptures and is very nice.

I hope you'll join us for this fun challenge. I would love to see your bling! You have until the 16th to enter.
